CBD + 4 Hydrogen Atoms

CBD (Cannabidiol) vs. H4CBD (Hydrogenated CBD)

H4CBD is now for sale in our shop. At the time of researching this question we were looking to sell H4CBD products. Like many people we had never heard the term so it made sense that we learned what it is. Here is what we found..,

CBD (Cannabidiol)

CBD is one of the main cannabinoids found in cannabis plants. It is widely used for its potential therapeutic benefits without the psychoactive effects associated with THC.

Pros:

  • Non-Psychoactive: CBD does not produce a “high,” making it suitable for a wide range of users.
  • Therapeutic Benefits: CBD has been studied for its potential to reduce anxiety, pain, inflammation, and seizures.
  • Legal Status: In the UK, CBD products with less than 0.2% THC are legal.
  • Market Availability: Widely available in various forms such as oils, tinctures, edibles, and topicals.

Cons:

  • Regulatory Uncertainty: While CBD is legal, the regulatory environment is still evolving, leading to potential changes in legality and product standards.
  • Quality Control: Varying quality among products due to lack of stringent regulations.
  • Interaction with Medications: CBD can interact with certain medications, requiring medical supervision for some users.

H4CBD (Hydrogenated CBD)

H4CBD is a hydrogenated form of CBD, which means it has been chemically altered by adding 4 hydrogen atoms. (As the name suggests. Hydrogenation can change the compound’s effects and stability. You may recognise the term hydrogenation becase this is what happens when you turn vegetable oil into margarine.

Pros:

  • Stability: Hydrogenation can increase the stability and shelf-life of CBD.
  • Potential Enhanced Effects: Preliminary research suggests that H4CBD might have different or enhanced effects compared to regular CBD, though more studies are needed. In simple terms its can have stronger effects for the same dosage.

Cons:

  • Lack of Research: H4CBD is relatively new, and there is limited research on its safety, efficacy, and long-term effects.
  • Regulatory Status: As a newer compound, H4CBD’s legal status is less clear in many regions, including the UK.
  • Market Availability: Not as widely available as CBD, leading to potential difficulty in finding reliable products

Effects of H4CDB

There was a study in 2006 that reported that hydrogenated forms of CBD have a high affinity for the brain’s CB1 neuroreceptors. This finding has led some to believe that H4CBD may have effects up to a hundred times greater than CBD. Given the age of this study and the fact that there is little other research to justify such a claim may indicate it was headline grabing.

Can I get High on H4CBD?

H4CBD does not cause highs. The effects of taking H4CBD appear to be similar to those of taking large doses of CBD, but we must bear in mind that this information is based on limited preliminary research and anecdotal evidence.

H4CBD can induce a feeling of relaxation and euphoria that can help relieve stress without causing a significant high.
